A dynamic and multilingual commentary
With Editions Weblaw, a "dynamic" online commentary is to be created, which is equivalent to a publication platform: On the one hand, new authors with contributions on sports associations, which have not yet been treated, should be able to join at any time. On the other hand, in case of changes in law or practice, the authors should be able to react immediately and publish the new version of their contribution without having to wait for the publication of a consolidated second edition. It is not intended to publish a printed version; the project will operate exclusively in the digital space.

The contributions can be written in German, French or English. The language diversity of the Swiss authors and audience will be taken into account by the translation software.

If you are interested in publishing, please contact us by e-mail at anne.schneuwly@rwi.uzh.ch.

The structure
The commentary will be divided into two parts:

The general part (1) serves as a basis for further legal analyses. It contains explanations that concern all sports associations. It covers questions of association law (organization, relationship of the individual sections to the federation and to each other), questions of equality in competitions, ethics issues, etc.

In the special part (2) the individual sports associations are presented. The contributions of about 10 to 15 pages are basically structured in the same way: General information about the sport, organization of the federation (private law/corporate law), regulations for amateur sports and competition regulations, and special issues. In doing so, they build on the general section.

For a broad audience
It is important to us to provide free access to the results of our legal research to everybody interested in sports: sports associations, which often support their members in legal matters, as well as lawyers, courts and arbitration tribunals.

For the open science debate, see the interview with Anne Mirjam Schneuwly in the UZH Journal.

The project was made possible among others through a financial contribution from the Faculty of Law at the University of Zurich.
