Three Lessons Learned for Intelligent Transport Systems that Abide by the Law
Die Rechtsfragen rund um die Technologie selbstfahrender Fahrzeuge (Autonomous Vehicles = AV) tangieren sowohl Sicherheit, Verbraucherrecht und Versicherung, als auch Privatsphäre und Datenschutz, Strassenverkehrsrecht, Steuerrecht etc. Der Beitrag befasst sich mit diesen und weiteren normativen Herausforderungen von AV, welche die Absicht des Gesetzes betreffen, den Prozess von technologischer Innovation zu regeln, und stützt sich hierbei auf eine mehr als 15 Jahre alte Diskussion. Während in Europa aufgrund von Unfalltodesfällen jährlich der Gegenwert einer mittelgrossen Stadt verschwindet, können AV eine fundamentale Rolle in der Wiedererfindung unserer Städte und deren Transportsystem innerhalb eines «Smart Informational Environment» spielen.
