Legal research is fundamental to the lawyer’s daily work and benefits from better work-flow integration and high-quality search results. We present an AddIn that integrates search functionality into a text processing environment. Selection Search is a search method where users select text as input to a search query. Our user study suggests that the Selection Search can be a complementary search method to Keyword Search and that the quality of the results returned by a search technology based on Word Embeddings is perceived best by the study participants.
